MomentShotMomentShot Privacy Policy
MomentShot is a screenshot and screen recording tool for macOS. We take your privacy seriously: MomentShot does not collect, upload or share any personal data.
Information we process
- Screen content: read only when you take a screenshot, a scrolling screenshot or a screen recording. The resulting images and videos stay on your Mac (in a folder you choose, or on the clipboard).
- Microphone: used only when you turn on microphone recording in Settings and start a recording. Audio is written directly into the recording file on your Mac.
- Preferences: settings such as shortcuts and save folders are stored locally in your system preferences.
What we don't do
- No network access — no data is sent to any server
- No analytics, advertising or third-party tracking
- No accounts, and no collection of names, email addresses, device identifiers or similar information
Third-party apps
When you click a quick-share button on the toolbar (such as WeChat), MomentShot only copies the screenshot to the system clipboard and opens that app; you decide whether to paste and send it. From then on, that app's privacy policy applies.
Permissions
Screen recording and microphone permissions are managed by macOS. You can turn them off at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security.
